Recognized by Global Professional Services Firm KPMG, TOP Technology Named to the 3rd Greater Bay Area New Energy Innovation List

Forum on Al-Driven Energy Technology Transformationand International Investment & Financing
1. Behind the List: The Greater Bay Area’s Strength in New Energy Innovation
The list was unveiled at the “AI-Driven Energy Technology Transformation and International Investment & Financing” Forum, held as part of the 2026 International Digital Energy Expo.
The event brought together participants from more than 50 countries and regions, including nearly 400 overseas companies, making it a high-level platform for global dialogue and collaboration across the energy industry.
During the forum, KPMG also released the Statistical Review of World Energy 2026, providing data-driven insights into the ongoing global energy transition.

Csaba Novák, President of the Hungarian Renewable Energy Association, delivered a speech at the forum
The selection covered four key sectors: new energy equipment and materials, battery technologies and component manufacturing, smart grids and application services, and the circular economy and resource recycling. A comprehensive evaluation framework was established across six core dimensions and more than ten quantitative indicators. Following an independent review process, 12 companies were ultimately selected, highlighting innovative companies across the Greater Bay Area’s new energy value chain with strong technological capabilities and growth potential.
2. TOP Technology: From Materials Innovation to Mass Production
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Shunde, Foshan, TOP Technology is the first company in China to achieve mass production of Li-rich manganese-based power batteries. It is also one of the few companies in the industry with in-house capabilities spanning all three core battery materials—cathode, anode, and electrolyte—together with closed-loop cell manufacturing.
The company’s inclusion on the list reflects professional recognition of both TOP Technology’s technology roadmap and its industrialization capabilities.

TOP Technology Named to the 3rd Greater Bay Area New Energy Innovation List
1. In-House Development of Three Core Materials Builds a Strong Technology Foundation
At its core, competition in high-energy-density batteries is driven by advances in fundamental materials. Backed by its in-house research institute and PhD-led R&D team, TOP Technology has established proprietary technology platforms across three core battery materials:
Li-rich manganese-based cathode:
To address the long-standing challenge of voltage decay in Li-rich manganese-based materials, TOP Technology has developed a cobalt-free, low-nickel formulation through years of dedicated R&D. The cathode delivers a specific capacity of 300 mAh/g, with nickel content controlled at 25%–35%, enabling higher energy density while reducing reliance on costly metals such as cobalt and nickel.
100% silicon-carbon anode:
TOP Technology has developed a proprietary in-situ solid-state electrolyte coating technology to effectively accommodate the volume expansion of silicon during charge and discharge. This significantly improves the cycling stability of the 100% silicon-carbon anode and provides a practical anode solution for the commercialization of high-energy-density cells.
Electrolyte:
The company has developed a composite solid-state electrolyte system combining oxides and polymers, balancing ionic conductivity with interfacial safety. Integrated with TOP Technology’s proprietary cathode and anode materials, this synergistic design further enhances overall cell safety.
TOP Technology has established a clear energy-density roadmap: 400 Wh/kg products have been in stable supply for two years; 460 Wh/kg cells have entered volume delivery; 500 Wh/kg cells have completed experimental validation and are planned for mass production in 2027; with a long-term target of 600 Wh/kg.
2. Market-Proven Technology Across Multiple Applications
The true value of materials innovation is ultimately proven through real-world applications. Today, TOP Technology’s high-energy-density batteries are deployed across three key application areas: UAVs, embodied intelligence, and high-performance mobility, with further applications extending to energy storage and premium portable power solutions.
In the low-altitude economy sector, TOP Technology’s 400 Wh/kg batteries have been in stable supply for two years, establishing a leading position in the high-energy-density UAV battery market. Its 460 Wh/kg cells have entered volume delivery, providing longer endurance for eVTOLs and other low-altitude aircraft.
In the smart mobility sector, TOP Technology’s core team has been dedicated to Li-rich manganese-based battery technology for more than a decade. Related products have been included in four vehicle model approval announcements in China, and the company has also conducted joint R&D with FAW Group, advancing the application and validation of high-energy-density batteries in the automotive sector.

3. Rooted in the Greater Bay Area, Expanding Globally
Starting from Shunde, Foshan, TOP Technology has grown alongside the Greater Bay Area’s well-established new energy industry chain and dynamic innovation ecosystem. The company has established four major bases in China—Foshan, Huaibei, Chongqing, and Shenyang—and is planning R&D institutes and production facilities in Germany and Singapore, gradually building global supply and service capabilities.
3. A New Starting Point: Advancing the Energy Transition Through Materials Innovation
Competition in the new energy industry is no longer defined by a single performance metric. It has evolved into a comprehensive competition encompassing materials technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and industrial collaboration. For TOP Technology, being named to the Greater Bay Area New Energy Innovation List represents both recognition and a responsibility to continue advancing.
Looking ahead, TOP Technology will remain focused on high-energy-density battery materials and cell technologies, while working openly with partners across the industry value chain to promote technological collaboration and industrial development. Our goal is to bring battery solutions with higher energy density, greater safety, and stronger cost competitiveness from the laboratory into a broader range of real-world applications.
Innovating in materials. Powering the future of energy.
TOP Technology — Always Moving Forward.
